Amy Crump, O.D.

Following the completion of her B.S. degree in Vision Science from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, Amy Crump received her Doctorate in Optometry with High Distinction from the Michigan College of Optometry. Upon graduation, Dr. Crump accepted positions at Pearle Vision in Flint, Michigan, Nationwide Vision Center, Phoenix, Arizona, and was the Lead Clinician at CIGNA Medical Group of Arizona, prior to joining Swagel Wootton Hiatt in 2007.

Since deciding on a medical career at an early age when glasses were prescribed for her, Dr. Crump has become a widely recognized authority on the fitting and prescribing of specialty contact lenses including keratoconus (a condition where the cornea is abnormally cone-shaped), bifocals, toric (to correct astigmatism), RGP’s (rigid gas permeable) and soft contact lenses.

As a result of her clinical experience with primary care, as well as geriatric optometry, Dr. Crump is an acknowledged leader in the treatment and management of ocular diseases including glaucoma and co-management of cataract and refractive surgery.

In her spare time, Dr. Crump volunteers with the Flying Samaritan Clinic providing glasses and emergency eye care to the underprivileged in Mexico and conducting vision screenings and follow-up eye care for the Arizona Special Olympics.

When she’s not caring for patients, hiking or SCUBA diving, Dr. Crump’s family is her #1 priority, and she enjoys spending her free time with them most of all.
