Daniel McGehee, O.D. graduated with the honor of “Clinician of the Year” from the Illinois College of Optometry, in 1988. He completed a Post Doctoral Clinical Fellowship at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago where he taught as an Associate Professor of Optometry.
Dr. McGehee joined Swagel Wootton Hiatt Eye Center in 1992 where he performs comprehensive eye examinations as well as emergency care, pre and post-operative surgical care, glaucoma management and contact lens care. He also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Optometry with the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. McGehee is a member of the American Optometric Association and currently serves as the Director of Continuing Education. He is an active member of the Arizona Optometric Association where he serves on the Board of Directors.
Dr. McGehee is a two-time finisher of the Hawaii Ironman World Championship Triathlon, the 2002 National 12-Hour Bicycling Champion, and enjoys coaching his children’s soccer and basketball teams.
He and his lovely wife Mary, also an Optometrist, reside in Mesa with their three beautiful children and enjoy skiing, hiking, and bicycle touring together.
