James Andrew Hiatt, M.D.

Dr. Hiatt has completed a fellowship in refractive surgery and cornea in Beverly Hills California. He is one of a relatively few eye surgeons in the country to have completed a one year fellowship in refractive surgery.

Dr. Hiatt is a graduate of The University of Kansas for residency, medical school, and undergraduate training, where he graduated with departmental honors and distinction. His internship year was completed at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix.

Dr. Hiatt has written numerous papers and done a great deal of research in Ophthalmology; his primary interests are in cataract and refractive surgery. He has been invited to speak, present research, and give his opinions at national refractive surgery seminars.

Dr. Hiatt is a member of The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and The American Medical Association.

Dr. Hiatt is certified by The American Board Of Ophthalmology.

His fellowship training includes: LASIK, LASEK, PRK, PTK, AK, LTK, CK, Wavefront, management of refractive surgery complications, cornea, ocular surface disease, dry eye, Intacs for myopia, Intacs for keratoconus, riboflavin/UVA for keratoconus, Botox, refractive lensectomy, and cataract extraction with lens implantation.

In his spare time, Dr. Hiatt enjoys water sports, mountain biking, and snow skiing. His favorite activity, however, is spending personal time with his family. He and his wife, Sheila, have four sons: Luke, Brent, Chase, and Rudy.

Dr. James Andrew Hiatt has been recognized by his peers as being a Top Doctor in the field of Ophthalmology inPhoenix Magazine‘s 2009 and 2010 issues.
